Why is it so hard to find a job?

You have years of respectable experience and an array of skills to utilize at any given moment. Your resume has been edited ten times, you’ve applied to 100+ jobs, and if you read your cover letter one more time your eyes may just explode!

And still… no job offer.

So why in the world is it so hard to find a job?

Unfortunately, the modern hiring world is based upon numbers, analytics, unreasonable hiring practices, and resume standards that don’t choose the best candidate.

So... instead of trying to beat the system, we ADAPT and play the game.

Here are my top three tips to help you improve the chances of landing quality career opportunities.

  1. Network Network Network!

I can’t tell you how many of my clients have improved their career, compensation, and standard of living through authentic relationship building. Reach out to past colleagues on Linkedin, join a career club, ask for referrals, and do WHATEVER you can to make new connections. You’re a nice, personable professional so leverage your interpersonal skills. I’ll leave you with this… 85% of all jobs are filled through networking. Branch out!

  1. Develop an ATS Compliant Resume or Hire a Professional Resume Writer

I’ll be the first to tell you that the resume writing process to get hired is flawed and unfair at times. But, to win the game you have to play the game! Ensure your format, structure, design, job descriptions, skills section, and executive profile are tailored towards your desired roles. I get it… bragging about yourself is tough...but your resume needs to portray you as an “action-oriented” professional.

  1. Keep a Positive Mindset

This tip is probably my favorite. Manifest your dreams and wishes into a reality. You will find something great because you are too awesome of a professional not to! Be patient but understand when to attack.

I’m rooting for you.

Let’s goooo!
